Director of Value Consulting

AuditBoard is looking for a creative, passionate, self-starting individual who can be our next Director of Value Consulting. In this role, you’ll serve as a leader in the cross-functional effort to build and scale a value management program, helping our customers and prospects understand, measure, and optimize their AuditBoard investment.

Leveraging both your external experience and the collective experience of the AuditBoard team, you’ll apply industry and vertical-specific knowledge to set long-term strategy and goals for the value consulting practice at AuditBoard. This will involve collaborating with leadership across Sales, Sales Engineering, Customer Success and Product Marketing teams to achieve cross-functional alignment in order to maximize results. This position will report to our Vice President of Product Solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Innovate and improve upon current value selling motions across the organization

  • Build and lead a team of Value Architects across multiple verticals

  • Conduct regular meetings with sales and customer success leaders to ensure the team is aligned and collaborating with teams across geographies

  • Work cross-functionally with Account Executives, Sales Engineers, Customer Success, Product, and Marketing to establish a shared vision with our customers, helping them achieve their strategic goals

  • Deliver Value Assessments and Value Realization services for select customers/prospects leveraging key components such Product ROI, TCO considerations, etc.

  • Evangelize the value stories and outcomes that AuditBoard drives for our clients, and help develop assets the entire organization can use to support effective solution selling. 

  • Assist with developing value messaging associated with targeted opportunities

  • Validate messaging is aligned with customer value themes (partner with product marketing management)

  • Craft reusable assets to help scale the team's reach across the greater AuditBoard organization

  • Provide tactical support for targeted opportunities

  • Manage library of assets include items such as spreadsheets, presentation templates, case examples, and customer stories

  • Create custom business cases for our strategic customers and prospects, deriving trends and insights to scale a value framework across customers and segments

  • Educate, coach and train our Sales and Customer Success teams to conduct activities within our value selling framework; coach teams to articulate the AuditBoard value proposition from a business point of view

  • Train, ramp, and continuously develop the Value Architect team

 

Attributes of a Successful Candidate

External Candidates

  • 10+ years of experience in value consulting, value engineering or other applicable roles.

  • 3+ years of management experience

  • Vision for scaling a value consulting program

  • Proven ability to collaborate with and successfully influencing leaders to invest.

  • Strong verbal and written communication of qualitative and quantitative business cases.

  • Innate curiosity to investigate business processes and evaluate the possibility of new business models.

  • Strong facilitation skills, to encourage clear articulation of the business issues and effective solution design by the relevant players.

  • Executive presence and advanced presentation skills. Individuals must be comfortable influencing and collaborating in a C-level environment.

  • Experience with enterprise cloud solutions, particularly in the GRC / audit space.

  • High degree of curiosity with particular emphasis on discovering how to evolve current thinking of ‘value’ for the audit, risk and compliance space
