Why This Role is Exciting

We are seeking a Senior Engineering Manager for the Infrastructure Engineering team at AuditBoard. This leadership role is critical for delivering highly reliable infrastructure-as-code based foundational services that propel AuditBoard’s ongoing growth. This position provides strategic opportunities to lead our strategy for scaling out infrastructure, mentoring other engineers, and creating a culture focused on quality in planning and execution. In this role, you will work across a variety of technologies and partnerships - from building the team that creates the product roadmap for our infrastructure control plane to exploring new ways to meet customer needs using emerging cloud-based solutions. Our ideal candidate is someone who loves to collaborate with others while also being willing and able to work directly to take an idea from concept to implementation. Key Responsibilities

  • Creating and leading a technology and organizational strategy

  • Resource allocation, prioritization, and conflict resolution

  • Hiring and developing a world-class engineering team

  • Creating a culture of customer obsession, constant innovation, and winning together

  • Guiding execution against an internal roadmap

  • New team member onboarding, training, and associated programs

  • Service ownership of platform infrastructure and observability components

  • Managing internal and customer-facing cloud-based services to a budget

Attributes for a Successful Candidate

  • 3+ years of proven management/leadership experience in a public cloud infrastructure engineering organization, managing a geographically distributed team of engineers

  • 8+ years of experience with technologies such as Node.JS, Golang, Kubernetes, Infrastructure-as-code, terraform, and relational databases including Postgres

  • Proven ability to lead high-performing engineering teams while able to provide hands-on technical direction

  • First-hand experience in building and scaling infrastructure platform services for large enterprise clients

  • Strong communication, leadership, people management, and analytical skills

  • Self-driven to achieve high-quality results in a fast-paced environment

  • Knowledgeable about industry trends, best practices, and change management

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (CS or EE) or equivalent experience. Bonus: A Master's degree in CS or EE is preferred or MBA with a BS in CS or EE
