Key Responsibilities
Assist in an accurate and timely month-end close by preparing journal entries and account reconciliations such as prepaids, accruals, fixed assets, and other accounts
Aid in monthly close activities related to subscription & service revenue
Validate accuracy of contract data within various systems of record to support revenue processes
Support flux analyses for month-end that summarize and tell the “story” of the activity
Assist in annual audit with external auditors, with activities such as pulling selections and performing tie outs
Coordinate with other departments to obtain transaction information, research reconciling items, and resolve issues
Assist in ad-hoc projects and management inquiries
Provide backup support to the accounting, finance, and operational teams as needed
Attributes for a Successful Candidate
Accounting or Finance major
Graduation date within a year and a half of the internship start date
Experience with Microsoft Excel (including pivot tables and lookups)
Understanding of US GAAP preferred
Experience in an accounting role preferred
Flexibility to meet changing priorities and the ability to prioritize workload to achieve accurate results in a fast-paced environment
Ability to manage and maintain relationships with internal and external parties
Attention to details, curiosity, and the desire to look for meaning behind figures
