Why This Role is Exciting

We are looking for an Incentive Compensation Manager to join our team! You will work closely with the accounting team to help drive the monthly and quarterly commission close process. We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive individual to oversee the administration of our sales commission programs. You will supervise a small team responsible for distributing commission plans, ensuring accurate calculations, maintaining the commission software tool, responding to sales team inquiries, and coordinating with payroll and accounting departments for smooth execution. You will report to the Accounting Director and play a pivotal role in streamlining processes for commission reporting. This position will also provide you with exposure to different cross-functional teams (sales, HR, and revenue operations) across the company.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the preparation and distribution of commission plans to the sales team, ensuring they are correctly understood and applied.
  • Ensure all commission calculations are accurate and aligned with company policies, commission structures, and individual agreements. Continuously improve processes and procedures to enhance efficiencies, reduce risk of error, and identify opportunities for automation.
  • Administer, configure, and optimize commission software tools (CaptivateIQ)
  • Partner with cross-functional teams such as People, IT, Sales, Revenue Operations, Finance, etc to streamline the process for commission calculation and plan distribution
  • Serve as a point of contact for sales representatives regarding commission-related inquiries, providing prompt and accurate responses and provide support to inquiries from external auditors
  • Track and research compensation issues/inquiries and provide analysis to facilitate timely resolution
  • Review submissions of monthly commission payments for payroll and accrual files for accounting within specified deadlines
  • Generate internal documentation on compensation plans, reporting guidelines, and compensation-related FAQs and manage employee inquiries
  • Prepare ad hoc analysis & participate in projects as needed
  • Supervise and mentor commission team staff

Attributes for a Successful Candidate

  • 6+ years of experience between accounting and incentives compensation roles w/ previous experience in the SaaS industry
  • Experience with Salesforce and CaptivateIQ or other incentive compensation management tools (CaptivateIQ preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of Excel required
  • Attention to detail and ability to drive process improvements
  • Analytical skills with the ability to interpret and analyze data
  • A detail-oriented self starter with excellent problem solving, interpersonal and organizational skills
