THE ROLE

 

We are looking for an Associate Director of Product Marketing to lead and scale our Product Marketing team, as well as manage marketing and sales enablement initiatives that drive awareness, purchase and adoption of our platform. In this role, you will work closely with Product Management, Sales, Client Success and Marketing to drive AuditBoard’s go-to-market strategy. You also will be the subject-matter expert of our customers, the technology roadmap, industry trends and the competitive environment, using this insight to inform our product messaging, positioning and narrative. As a team lead, you should inspire creativity and innovation in your team to engage with our target audiences and drive awareness in new, unique ways. Reporting to the VP of Marketing, the ideal candidate is someone who is adept at understanding customer needs, assessing new markets, and creating marketing strategies that drive revenue and growth. A strong storyteller with intellectual curiosity, this person also should be skilled at accelerating the sales cycle with compelling, inspiring content. And, they should be comfortable creating and driving overall strategy, as well as the hands-on execution.

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Coach, lead, manage and inspire a high-performing, fast-paced, results-oriented team.Lead, develop and execute go-to-market plans for AuditBoard’s products and services.
  • Craft compelling and differentiated messaging and positioning for AuditBoard’s current and future software and services.
  • Create a narrative that communicates our product vision, summarizes AuditBoard’s value to our prospects and customers, and that connects the individual products and solutions in a cohesive story.
  • Develop content that speaks to our platform’s business value for our target buyers and decision makers, including videos, blog posts, white papers, web content, product overview documents and more.
  • Collaborate with Sales to understand and support enablement needs. Deliver and maintain a complete set of assets and support training activities.
  • Drive the product release planning strategy and execution. Ensure awareness of new products and features across our key internal and external audiences, from Sales, Client Success and Marketing, to partners, customers, industry analysts and more.
  • Be a subject matter expert on AuditBoard’s platform, target markets, industry trends, customers and competitors. Turn this knowledge into actionable insights for the company.
  • Evaluate the market landscape, identify target markets, and define ideal customer profiles and buyer personas.
  • Gain customer feedback and mine for competitive and market insights that can shed light on customer needs and inform key product enhancements, as well as inspire new products.
  • Collect, analyze and manage competitive intelligence. Provide constructive guidance to Product Management and Sales based on insight gained. Support the development and refinement of competitive positioning.
  • Collaborate with Product Management to influence the product roadmap and priorities based on customer requirements, competitive insights, win/loss analysis and opportunities for innovation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional Marketing roles (demand generation, PR, industry analyst relations, events) to support activities and initiatives that drive awareness, consideration and purchase of AuditBoard solutions.


Requirements

DESIRED SKILLS / EXPERIENCE

 

  • 10 years of product marketing experience, particularly experience in B2B enterprise cloud/SaaS. Experience with financial technology a plus.
  • Relevant BA/BS degree.
  • Established leadership experience, including direct report management.
  • Proven history of creating and leading product marketing strategies and managing successful product launches and campaigns.
  • Understands the value of storytelling in executing impactful product marketing initiatives.
  • Ability to understand complex technology and translate it into consumable messaging and content.
  • Sharp critical thinking and analytical skills, strong business acumen, and an ability to make well-informed decisions quickly.
  • Ability to move between strategic planning and ideation, as well as hands-on execution.
  • Demonstrated ability to execute cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, Product Management, Engineering and Client Success.
  • A collaborator who has the ability to influence people at all levels of the organization and build trust and mutual respect with key stakeholders.
  • Is confident and effective in engaging with leadership and uses exceptional judgment in making strategic decisions.
